NEW: 3D decoration set and laser-cut mast tops
The Batavii model has been enhanced with new, exceptionally detailed ornaments printed in 3D technology at the appropriate scale and size. The current set also includes a sculpted figurehead. Note: the photos show an older version of the decorations.
Additionally, the set includes a complete set of laser-cut tops for each mast – another step toward even greater realism!
Batavia Ship – history
The Batavia is a so-called “retourschip,” also known as an East Indiaman—a merchant ship of the Dutch East India Company (VOC), designed for voyages between the Netherlands and its overseas colonies. About the set:
This detailed model has been developed in 1:72 scale, based on a modern replica built in Lelystad. The hull, armament, decks, and decorations are faithfully reproduced based on the original from the historic Bataviawerf shipyard.
The set includes:
- laser-cut keel and frames,
- full side planking made from a single layer of walnut wood,
- decks and masts,
- 3D-printed resin embellishments,
- assembly plans and instructions.
The sail set (fabric, plans, instructions, additional lines, blocks and cleats) is available separately.

Attention:
The model comes with a simple stand and without sails.
The luxurious oak wood stand and sail set are available separately by special order.
