HMS Bounty – an 18th-century British frigate
The name Bounty—the British Royal Navy frigate—will forever be associated with Captain Bligh and the dramatic events that led to the crew’s mutiny. The ship set sail from the port of Spithead in December 1787, bound for Tahiti.
On the return voyage, due to the strict discipline imposed by the captain, discontent began to grow among the crew and quickly turned into a mutiny. The first officer, Christian Fletcher, took command of the ship and forced Captain Bligh and 18 loyal sailors to leave the vessel in a lifeboat.
After a perilous journey of more than 4,000 nautical miles, Bligh reached the island of Timor and then returned to England. Meanwhile, Bounty has sailed back to Tahiti.
The model features a pre-formed fuselage, making assembly easier.
