HMS Ontario – MarisStella

HMS Ontario was a small, deep-draft, heavily armed snow built in 1779 on Carleton Island in Upper Canada. Unlike most of the flat-bottomed vessels on Lake Ontario, the Ontario resembled European ocean-going ships – making it unique in its region. Unfortunately, it was lost along with the entire crew during a storm. Today, her wreck rests in the cold waters of Lake Ontario, preserved in excellent condition as a war memorial site – any further exploration of the wreck is prohibited.

The model has been faithfully recreated based on Admiralty drawings and wreck investigations. Design and reconstruction: The Art of Age of Sail.
