Belle Poule – French training schooner
Belle Poule is a training schooner belonging to the French Navy. Along with its sister vessel named Étoile, it was launched on February 8, 1932, at the shipyard in Fécamp, Normandy. The ship is 37.5 meters long and has a displacement of 225 tons.
It can reach speeds of up to 12.5 knots under sail and up to 9 knots when powered by a diesel engine. Belle Poule is primarily used for training cadets, combining the tradition of sailing ships with modern maritime training.
