Instrukcja obsługi – Nisha – Brixham ‘Mumble Bee’
Story:
Nisha – 1907
“Mumble Bee” was a ketch-rigged vessel (cutter), with a full bow and a broad deck. They were solidly built ships, and many of them remained in good condition well into old age. Due to their sleek lines, some of these vessels were converted into yachts in later years. Those that fished off the coast of Wales, departing from the port of Tenby and working the fishing grounds in Mumbles Bay, became collectively known as “Mumble-Bees.” Partly because they buzzed around Mumbles like bees around a hive, and partly because they adopted features characteristic of the traditional Mumbles boats.
Nisha had an overall length of 59 feet 3 inches (approx. 18 metres) and a beam of 14 feet (approx. 4.3 metres). She had a deep keel at the stern, with a draft of 7 feet 10 inches (approx. 2.4 m), while at the bow it was only 4 feet (approx. 1.2 m). Its sleek lines create a very attractive hull shape, making it an exceptionally striking display model.
