“Oseberg” – A New Version of the Legend by “Ships of Pavel Nikitin”

The “Ships of Pavel Nikitin” team presents a completely new version of the legendary Viking ship “Oseberg.” The changes compared to the previous edition are so extensive that it can be described as an entirely new design. The model has gained significantly in realism, detail, and historical accuracy.

Key changes and features of the model:

• New hull frame construction – the hull now resembles a real ship, with a realistic frame and cross-sections

• Decking made from individual boards, with natural grain patterns and textures

• A new hull planking installation method – the wood grain follows the planks, creating an authentic look

Rigging and historical details:

• The ship’s rigging was developed based on archaeological research and in accordance with the findings of Viking Age historians.

• All block rigging components are made of wood, reproduced based on reliable sources

• The set also includes anchors and a ship’s galley, 3D-printed.

Additional set components:

• Sail painted in Viking colors

• A stylized display stand for the model, inspired by 9th-century Scandinavian wooden architecture and carvings

• The set includes support runners and mounting brackets, making installation easier at every stage.
