Pasara is a light wooden boat, ideal for recreational sailing and fishing, widely used along the entire Croatian coastline. Depending on their length, pasaras are divided into small pasaras (up to 4.8 m, completely open) and large pasaras (5–6 m), featuring a partially covered foredeck and often a hatch leading below deck. A characteristic structural element is the straight cut of the stern, known as the transom.
Among smaller vessels, it often served as a so-called “kaića”, meaning a small auxiliary boat used to supply larger sailing vessels.
