Discover the legend of the maritime power of the Republic of Dubrovnik
The carrack (carraque, carraca) is one of the most important ships in the history of seafaring, and its Dubrovnik variant was among the largest and safest cargo vessels in the world between the 14th and 17th centuries. They were so famous that the English term “Argosy” came into being, derived from “Ragusies” (Dubrovnik), meaning a powerful merchant ship of great value.
This model is a tribute to the craftsmanship of the old Adriatic boatbuilders, designed by master model maker Mladen Mitić.
