OcCre Royal Fortune – a wooden model of a pirate ship on a 1:65 scale

Royal Fortune is a striking wooden model of a pirate ship from OcCre, inspired by the legendary vessel of Bartholomew Roberts, known as Black Bart. He was one of the most recognizable pirates of the 18th century and one of the symbols of the end of the Golden Age of Piracy.

This kit lets you build an impressive 1:65-scale replica of a pirate ship. The model stands out for its high level of detail, elaborate rigging, realistic hull, and classic pirate silhouette, which looks great once completed.

The Legend of Black Bart

Bartholomew Roberts started out as a Welsh sailor who was captured by pirates in 1719. He hadn’t planned on becoming a pirate, but when the crew elected him captain, he quickly became one of the most famous figures in the history of piracy.

In just three years, he is said to have captured over 400 ships, making him one of the most successful pirates in history. Roberts differed from the typical image of a pirate—he was not known for his drunkenness, he liked to dress elegantly, and his crew operated according to a strict code.

The name “Royal Fortune” did not refer to just one ship. Roberts gave it to each successive ship he captured, which then became his flagship. For him, “fortune” was not a matter of chance—it was something to be earned.
