Viking Gokstad – a replica of the famous Viking ship
The model depicts the legendary Viking ship discovered in 1880 near the village of Gokstad in Norway. The original dates from the second half of the 9th century and is one of the best-preserved archaeological finds from the Viking Age.

In 1893, Magnus Andersen built a replica of the ship and successfully sailed it from Norway to the United States, proving the original’s excellent seaworthiness.

The ship was 24 meters long, built with an oak keel and planking, and powered by 32 oars and a single square sail.
